Birmingham Road. The last house on the left appears to have been built around 1840/1850 from sandstone, whereas the rest of the row was built from brick. In 1872 half of the cottage is converted into an infant school, the remainder of the cottage to be separated and available as a cottage with living room and one bedroom for a single man, married man without family or a single woman. The property remained an infant school for 10 years. In 1882 the infant school and house is to be reconverted back into a cottage for a school mistress. In the early 1980's it became the village Post Office until the mid 1990's. The post box is still there.
