Stoneleigh History Society

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting the website of Stoneleigh History Society! We hope you will enjoy looking through it. Perhaps you might like to become a member, or come along to our meetings. You will always be made very welcome. We shall return from our summer break on Tuesday 23rd September, to hear more interesting talks by our own Members. Tales from the Churchyard will be given by Sheila Woolf and Lisa Reay. Join us at 7.30pm in Stoneleigh Village Hall to find out more.

NEW!

•  The Gallery now has many photographs uploaded to it. If you have any photographs, of Stoneleigh or residents, past or present which you would like included in the gallery, please email them to info@stoneleighhistorysociety.org.uk. It would be helpful if you could include a date and some information about the photograph. If there is information that can be provided regarding any of the photographs currently in the gallery, please use the email above. •  Stoneleigh and Ashow News - our village magazine - from 2010 onwards •  Monthly meeting Minutes and Chairman's Reports can now be found on the Annual Programme Page A Moment of Celebration - Stoneleigh through World War II, in the Leigh Chapel, Stoneleigh Church. Please go along and have a look. There are also other research materials and previous displays in folders to look at. The 1939 register has also been updated to include some names which were originally redacted. A paper copy of this can also be found in the Leigh Chapel, alongside the display. Were any of your relatives A.R.P wardens, land girls or "doing their bit" for Stoneleigh? The 1939 register may show if they were.
