B1.1

Grave photoFrederick Hugh Jackson was born on 23 December 1888 and baptised almost a year later on 17 November 1889 at Stoke, Coventry. His father Frederick Thomas Jackson was a wealthy electro-plater living at Stoke Park. His business, the Coventry Radiator and Presswork Company, made parts for the growing car industry in Coventry; as CovPress Holdings it is an international company in the 21st century. On 28 October 1914 he married Dorothy Bayley by special licence in Coventry, but the marriage was later dissolved and on 2 April 1934, now living at Warwick Avenue, Coventry, he married Vera Muriel Jepson at Westminster. Born Vera Simmonds, she herself had previously been married to Alfred Jepson (see B9.1 for Jepson family). Travelling extensively for the family firm, he settled at Bericote House, Blackdown and died on 29 March 1941. He was cremated at Perry Barr on 2 April 1941 and his ashes interred at Stoneleigh.
