Herbert Langley Towns was born in Benwell, Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1889 to Alexander Ross Towns and Harriet Ellen Langley. In 1918 he married Clarice Rodgers there, and he was employed as an ordnance draughtsman. Presumably it was this work which brought him to Coventry at some point.
His last address was Green Lane; he died on 11 June 1938.
Clarice, who had been born in 1893 in Lichfield, but had lived in Northumberland at the time she married, was living, in 1961, at 190 Anchorway Road Finham. Subsequently it is hard to find what became of her but someone of that name died in Cheltenham in November 1995 - which would make her 102.
