Grave photoRichard Henry and Evelyn Lucy Sibley Richard Henry Sibley was born in Berkswell on 28 August 1892 the son of Thomas and Sarah Ann Sibley. He was baptised there on 30 October; his father was a labourer. In 1901 the family lived on Kenilworth Road in Berkswell where his father was a horseman on a farm and there were now five children. By 1911 young Richard was working as a cowman at the farm of Frank Neal in Eastern Green. He married Evelyn Lucy Timms on 10 July 1921 and they went on to have eight children. They lived at Beechwood Cottage in Berkswell, as recorded in the 1939 register. Evelyn Lucy Timms (usually known as Lucy) was born on 18 March 1904, the child of Walter Tom and Helen Matilda Timms. She was baptised on 5 June at Temple Balsall, and her father was a shepherd. By 1911 the family had grown and there were seven children, although another had died. When Richard died in early 1971 the February parish magazine recorded: Mr. Sibley was an "old faithful" member of the British Legion for about 20 years. He could be relied upon for any help when needed. He suffered from a long illness, patiently borne. On the headstone Richard's birthdate is given as 1893. Evelyn died in 1987.
