William and Mary Jeacock
William was born in 1759 and baptised at Stoneleigh on 26 January 1760, the son of Job and Jane Jeacock. He became the parish clerk in Stoneleigh, appearing in the parish registers many times as a marriage witness.
He married
Mary Howlett on 22 June 1786 at Stoneleigh Church, by licence and they had five children before Mary's death at the age of 47 in December 1812. She was buried on 19 December. William died in October 1820 and was buried on 12 October.
Mary's family, the Howletts, were skilled tradesmen in Stoneleigh and the Jeacocks were maltsters and butchers with businesses in both Stoneleigh and Bubbenhall. William's son Job Jeacock (see
B12.6) succeeded his father as parish clerk.
