Ralph and Eleanor Cure have a large and impressive box tomb commemorating their deaths. Ralph was a farmer in Stoneleigh, born in 1735 and from the age of 30 being named in documents relating to the Leigh family. He was churchwarden in 1783 when the inhabitants of "Stoneley Town" petitioned for a workhouse; he married Eleanor Smart on 11 February 1778 at Stoneleigh Church. She had been born in 1742 and was buried on 3 April 1804. Ralph died in 1810 and was buried on 13 September.
