Grave photoRichard Michael Bennett The life of Richard Michael Bennett was tragically short. Born on 28 July 1970 in Amersham to Roy Donald Bennett and Diana nee Meyer, he died at the age of just nine on 29 July 1979, a few days after an appendix operation. His father wrote a moving tribute to him in the Stoneleigh & Ashow Magazine, expressing the family's faith in God's plan. Roy Donald Bennett was the son of Thomas Eric Bennett and his wife Irene nee Adams. He was born on 24 September 1940 in Worcester.and married in 1965. He and Diana had three children: Richard, Elizabeth and Stephanie. He first worked in the construction industry but in the 1970s made the decision to attend Theology College to train for the ministry. Although the family lived in Kenilworth Roy was invited by the Reverend Neville Beamer to undertake his clergy internship at Stoneleigh. Roy and Diana moved to Canada in 2014, where he died on 8 July 2018. On 22 July 2019 the family returned to Stoneleigh for a church service led by Neville Beamer, who had conducted Richard's funeral in 1979. Following a graveside ceremony Roy's ashes were interred in his young son's grave. After Richard's inscription is the quotation:
"A little child shall lead them"
