John Kenneth Walker Berry was born on 14 May 1915 in Bradford, Yorkshire but by 1939 had been married for a year and was living in Coventry, and working for an artificial silk company (Courtaulds?). He and his wife Betty nee Illingworth lived in Ranulf Croft, Cheylesmore. They had a son, John.
When he died his address was Cumnor House, Stoneleigh Road. He died on 15 June 1986 in Truro, his death being announced in
The Times. The striking memorial on his headstone reads
