Betty May Millard was born on 6 July 1925, the third of the eight children of George Henry Thorley and his wife Frances Lizzie (nee Wigley). She was baptised on 4 October. On 1 February 1947 she married
Victor William Millard; their son David was born in 1951 and their daughter Ann in 1955. Betty died on 3 June 1987 aged just 61.
Victor William Millard was born on 29 March 1921, in Chippenham, Wiltshire, the son of William Charles Millard and Kate (nee Baldwin). He died on 22 November 1994 aged 73.
