John Edward Victor Ward and Edith Marjorie Ward nee Endall
John Edward Victor Ward was born in Longcot, a village near Faringdon in Berkshire, on 27 April 1901 - just a little too late for the census of that year. He was the fourth child and first son of John and Leah nee Ridout, though the family was to grow to encompass nine children altogether. His father was a stockman on a farm. By 1925 he had moved to the Midlands as he married Edith Marjorie Endall on 22 February 1925 in Kenilworth. By the time the 1939 register was taken the couple lived at 21, Birmingham Road in Stoneleigh and John was employed as a concrete leveller, working in and aircraft factory. He died in 1958.
Edith Marjorie Endall (her name is given as Marjorie on her memorial stone) was born on 4 February 1899 in Barford, the daughter of Thomas and Hannah Endall. She had one older brother and two younger siblings. She and her husband John had a daughter, Marjorie Hannah, born in 1926.
She died on 10 August 1961.
