Grave photoArthur Hone was born on 10 January 1890 in Hornton Oxfordshire to parents David and his wife Emma Hone. The family lived in Millers Lane Hornton where David was an agricultural labourer. Arthur was the youngest child with a sister and two brothers. By the time of the 1901 Census Arthur had two younger sisters and his father had become a carter on a farm. When Arthur was 21 his mother had been widowed and become head of the household. He and his brother Harry had become cowmen and his sister Kate was working as a domestic servant. On 7 April 1923 he married Frances Annie Morris in Stoneleigh. She passed away on 16 November 1958 while they were living in Stareton Warwickshire. He lived to be 91 before dying in Ampthill Bedfordshire in December 1981. Frances Annie Morris was born in Stoneleigh in October 1889 and was baptised there on 15 December. Her parents were Joseph Morris and his wife Elizabeth Morris nee Brown. The family lived at 3 The Hill and Joseph was employed as a shepherd. Frances had four brothers and a sister all living there. By 1901 the family had moved to Coventry Road and Frances lived there with three elder brothers and two younger ones, Walter and Albert who were twins. Two of her other brothers Thomas and William had both died at the age of 11 in October 1900. By the time of the Census in 1911, Frances was single aged 21 years and living at the Co-operative Stores where she worked as a shop assistant. She married Arthur Hone who had been born and brought up in Oxfordshire, on 7 April 1923 in Stoneleigh. They had no children together and she died on 16 November 1958 in Stareton at the age of 69.
