Ethel Ann Aucutt, nee Clarke
Ethel Ann Clarke was born on 18 November 1890, though nothing more is known about her background at present. She married Stanley Leonard Aucutt in Coventry in January 1915. He died aged 75 in September 1966 in Nuneaton Warwickshire. Sadly, one of her daughters, Marjorie, predeceased her in 1977, whilst Ethel lived to be 92 and died on 14 April 1983.
Stanley Leonard Aucutt
Stanley was born in Sydney Australia in 1890, the son of Harry and Annie Aucutt nee Newton. Harry died in 1896 and by 1901 it appears that the family had come to England, as Stanley was living in Preston, Sussex, with his mother Annie and his elder brother William plus a lodger. Annie, who was born in Brighton Sussex was head of the family and described as a lodge - house keeper. By 1911 Stanley was 21 years old and together with his brother William was now boarding in York Street Coventry; Stanley was a printer and William a bookbinder. He married Ethel Ann Clarke in the first quarter of 1915 in Coventry and they had two sons and two daughters. By 1939 they lived in Chandos Street, Coventry, Stanley working as a steel turner/grinder. He passed away in Nuneaton in September 1966.
