Cathleen, or Cathy, Pedley was born on 6 June 1942 in Coventry, and married Frederick Jack Pedley in mid-1966. The couple had two daughters, Sarah and Helen. Cathleen died on 24 July 1988, aged just 46. Her headstone contains the beautiful quotation, adapted from Shakespeare: She was our own And we as rich in having such a jewel As twenty seas, if all their sand were pearl, The water nectar, and the rocks pure gold.
