Edith Jane Upton nee Sumner
Edith Jane Sumner was born in Kineton, Warwickshire on 25 December 1894 to parents George Henry and his wife Mary Ann nee Overton. She was baptised there on 16 June 1895. George Henry was employed as a groom. Edith had three sisters and two brothers. When she was seventeen she was living in Offchurch with the Coles family where she was employed as a domestic servant. Two years later she married Ernest Upton on 21 May 1913 in Stoneleigh. They had two sons, John Percy born in November 1913 and Ernest Henry born in March 1916. The family lived in Newlands Road Coventry in 1939. Edith passed away in March 1941 aged 46 with her death registered in Warwick.
