Henry Morris and Ellen Morris nee Cox
Henry Morris was the fifth of the nine children of Joseph and Elizabeth nee Brown (see
B2.4). He was born early in 1882 and baptised in Knowle on 5 March. By 1889 the family had moved to Stoneleigh, and father Joseph was a shepherd. By 1902, however, he had taken over the running of the Co-Operative Stores; Henry at that time, living at home, was a plumber.
In October 1904 he married
Ellen Cox, who had been born on 4 June 1880, at Stoneleigh. They had four sons, Leslie, Norman Francis and Cyril, and by the time of the 1911 census Henry was the baker for the Co-Operative Stores. At the time of the 1939 register they had moved to Vicarage Road, and Henry was now the steward of the village club.
Henry died on 6 July 1960, and Ellen on 30 May 1967.
