Grave photoMalvina Bonnick nee Fardon was born on 6 October 1870 in Kenilworth, one of nine children of Edward Langley Fardon (see Section C) and his wife Mary Ann (nee Cook). At the time the family were living at Castle End in Kenilworth, but just a few years later they were living in Stoneleigh, at 2, Church Place, where Edward was a well-known and respected whitesmith and engineer. Malvina married Arthur Bonnick on 26 March 1894 at Stoneleigh and they went on to have three daughters. She died on 30 August 1934 at the age of 64. Arthur Joseph Bonnick was born in Coventry on 9 January 1865 to Thomas and Elizabeth Bonnick. He trained as a blacksmith but by 1885 he had set up Bonnick & Co. cycle fitters. Between this time and 1898 he set up a variety of small cycle companies before selling them: in 1896, for example, one of them became the Riley Cycle Company. When he married Malvina Fardon in 1894 his occupation was given as a cycle manufacturer. After a short spell living in Bournemouth the family returned to Coventry, where by the 1911 census he had become an Inspector of Motor Cars, and was living in Harnall Lane. He died aged 81 on 6 November 1946.
