Grave photoSamuel George Ives & Constance Sarah Ives Samuel George Ives was born in Coventry on 21 September 1897 and was baptised at Holy Trinity Church on 13 October. His parents were Samuel William Ives and Alice Elizabeth (nee Woodier). The 1901 Census showed them living in Albion Street Coventry with Samuel described as a carpenter and Alice as a cigar maker. By 1911 they had moved to The Butts with Samuel's occupation being a jobbing carpenter and Alice with no occupation. They had by now had ten children, two of whom had died. Samuel George married Constance Sarah Gell in September 1923. He died in River Park Nursing Home in Leamington Spa on 26 April 1964 aged 66. He and Constance were living at The Acres, Gibbet Hill at the time. Constance Sarah Gell was born on 12 May 1898 in Bardney Lincolnshire to parents Arthur George Gell and his wife Kate (nee Dove). A few years later in 1901 they were living in Bardney "near the village green" and Arthur was working as a plumber and glazier. By 1911 the family had moved to Louth in Lincolnshire and Arthur was now a foreman working for the council at the local sewage works. Constance outlived her husband Samuel by about 30 years, dying in Warwickshire on 27 March 1995 aged 96.
