Grave photoJohn (Jack) Monsell an Eileen Monsell (nee Mansfield) John Monsell (usually known as Jack) became a prominent house-builder in Coventry. He was born on 17 July 1910 in Oldham Lancashire, one of six children of William and Florence. William worked in the cotton mills. Jack first married May Lawson on 2 February 1929, and ten years later was living in Stivichall Croft, Coventry, where his profession was given as master builder. Business took him abroad a great deal and he and his second wife Eileen (nee Mansfield), whom he married in 1953, travelled frequently. They had two sons, Peter and Charles. Jack owned the company J.K.Monsell and built many Coventry houses. Jack died in Bournemouth on 17 April 1975 aged 64. His last Coventry address was 7, Broadwater in Earlsdon. His wife Eileen lived to be 94, dying on 30 May 2009. Her funeral was at Stoneleigh on 8 June followed by cremation at Canley. Her cremated remains are at F.6.13. The parish magazine stated: To her very last years, Eileen was a much-loved member of the Thursday Holy Communion service driving there until she was into her nineties. The eulogy at her funeral, read by her son, Charles, was amusing as well as informative and revealed an adventurous and indomitable lady.)
