William Edward Louch was born in Snitterfield on 28 August 1872 to William Louch and his wife Hannah (nee Lines). He was baptised on 3 November there. By the time he was 8 years old, and a brother and sister had been born, the family had moved to Finham Park in Stoneleigh parish where his father was a shepherd. On the 10 May 1898 he was married to Ellen Worrall at Stoneleigh. Shortly afterwards they moved to Coventry where he was employed as a bricklayer's labourer, before returning to Stoneleigh. By 1911 they had two sons, William Eric and Albert. William died aged 55 on 12 February 1928.
