George Edward Mitton was born in Leicester on 26 November 1911 to parents Benjamin Mitton and his wife Esther Ann (nee Allen). He married Gladys Lakin in Loughborough in 1930 and they had eight children. He died in Stoneleigh on 18 July 1966 aged 65 years.
Gladys (nee Lakin) was born in Woodend, near Atherstone in Warwickshire in June 1907. Her father was a coal miner and he and his wife had 16 children, 11 of whom were still living by the 1911 census; Gladys was then the youngest. After George died in 1966, Gladys re-married John Gomm in Bishops Tachbrook in 1973. She passed away in Warwick Hospital on 24 May 1985 aged 77.
Norman Arthur (usually known as Arthur) Mitton was born in Barrow Lincolnshire on 12 April 1934 to parents George Edward Mitton and his wife Gladys Lakin. He married Doris Bell in July 1955 in Warwick, who had been born in Coventry in April 1937. Possibly he married Audrey Nicholson in June 1985 in Warwick. He passed away in Warwickshire in July 1988.
