Grave photoIda Elizabeth Ashton nee Henton and Frank Albert Ashton Ida Elizabeth Henton was born on 18 March 1884 in Fenny Drayton, one of the two daughters of Thomas Henton, a shepherd, and Anne Elizabeth nee Stanton. By 1891 they were living at River Bank Cottage, Stoneleigh. In 1901, 17 year old Ida was working as a servant at the Stoneleigh Arms in Birmingham Road, and on 23 December 1905 she married Frank Albert Ashton at Stoneleigh. They went on to have two sons and two daughters. By 1939 Frank was a foreman millwright in the machine tool trade. Their 15 year old son, Reginald, was working in the same trade as an apprentice. They lived at Riverside, Stoneleigh. Ida died aged 60 on 1 June 1944. Frank Albert Ashton was born in Coventry in 1885, the third of the five sons of Richard Ashton and his wife Emma nee Yardley. Three daughters were also born to Richard and Emma. He began his working life like his father, in the Coventry cycle trade. He died on 15 April 1956.
