Grave photoAlfred Neale was a farm labourer and stockman who had been born in Langley in the Claverdon parish on 16 October 1858,to Charles and Elizabeth Neale nee Holliss. His father was a bricklayer's labourer .He married Janet Stanley on 21 February 1887 and they went on to have nine children. Tragically his second son Alfred Edward , serving in the Scots Guards, was killed in October 1917 in the Great War. On 4 January 1926 his wife Janet died aged 58.The family can next be found in the 1939 register, living in Green Lane, Coventry (part of Stoneleigh parish). Alfred was by now retired, and living with some of his children. He died on 29 November 1946 aged 88.
