Grave photoFlorence Victoria Hannah Greaves nee Stewart and Tom Atkins Greaves Little is known at present about Florence's origins, although she seems to have been born on 1 April 1881 in Kensington, London. [In a later document her date of birth is given as 1891.]She married Tom Atkins Greaves in 1923 in Lambeth. In 1939 they were living in Wormleighton where Tom was a farm worker. It is possible that this was land belonging to the Leigh family, since when Florence died in Warwick Hospital in 1956 the couple had come to live in Stoneleigh and her address was East Lodge; her husband was a retired forestry worker. More is known about Tom Atkins Greaves. Named after his grandfather, Atkins Greaves, Tom was born on 1 May 1886 in Long Clawson, Leicestershire, a small village associated with the production of Stilton cheese. His father William was a famer there, and Tom was the seventh child of William's marriage to Frances nee Richardson. Two more children completed the family of nine. By 1911 Tom was working on his father's farm, Highfield Farm in Keyham, Leicestershire. He married Florence Victoria Hannah Stewart in mid-1923. Tom died in late 1966, his death being registered in Meriden.
