Grave photoRobert & Eleanor Jeacock Robert Jeacock was born in Smeeton Leicestershire and was christened on 4 August 1782 at nearby Kibworth Beauchamp. His parents were Samuel Jeacock and Ann nee Ward. He married Eleanor Ward in Stoneleigh on 3 December 1806, and by 1808 they were living in Ashow, by which time they had their first son John. They had four children in all, two daughters and two sons. Eleanor or Elinor Ward was born in Wolston, Warwickshire to parents William Ward and his wife Ann nee Hirons. By 1841 Robert and Eleanor were living at East Lodge Stoneleigh with Robert working as a sawyer. Eleanor died on 1 January 1853 aged 72and the 1871 Census shows Robert living with his unmarried daughter Elizabeth (formerly a domestic servant) at North Lodge, working as a wood sawyer. He died shortly after this on 28 September 1872 aged 90 years, although the headstone states his age as 89. He was buried on 2 October. The inscription on the headstone, in the "voice" of Eleanor, reads:
To all below I bid farewell, Husband, children and friends Beloved so well I have left you all for Christ above, Think of each other, dwell in love
