Grave drawing
Grave photoAbraham Adcock was born in Stoneleigh to parents Joseph and Jemima Adcock and christened on 28 December 1843. The family lived at Tocil House where Joseph was a farmer, and by 1851 Joseph and Jemima had ten children. They also had three servants living with them. Ten years later in 1861 the Census showed Abraham aged 18 working as a draper. He was still living at Tocil House with his older brother Henry who was only aged 20 but had become head of the family. Henry was a farmer working 150 acres of land. By 1871 Abraham had moved to Union Street in Coventry. He was now 28 years of age, unmarried but head of the household and working as a draper. His sisters Sarah and Caroline Adcock were living with him along with six others. Sarah was his housekeeper and Caroline was a draper's assistant. He passed away on 3 April 1873 aged only 30 and was buried at Stoneleigh on 8 April.
