Mabel Farmer and Mary nee Weston, wife of Thomas Richard Farmer
The last-born child of
Richard Farmer and
Margaret nee Hadley (
D 16. 2),
Mabel Farmer, was born in 1795. She was baptised at Stoneleigh on 27 September. She, like almost all her siblings, died young - she was 28.
She died on 12 April 1823, and was buried on 17 April.
In the same grave is buried her sister-in-law,
Mary Farmer nee Weston. One of the nine children of
James Weston and his wife
Mary nee Clarke, she was born in Stoneleigh in 1801. She was baptised on 14 April 1802 at Stoneleigh, and her parents farmed at Styvechale Grange. Very many members of her family are also buried at Stoneleigh, since they intermarried with other farming families such as the Swinnertons. Her parents and several siblings are buried at
D 6.7. Only one sibling is buried elsewhere, at Over Whitacre.
Mary married
Thomas Richard Farmer (
D 16.3) at Stoneleigh on 28 December 1825. She gave birth to three daughters, one of whom died as a baby. Mary died on 18 July 1886 and was buried at Stoneleigh on 22 July, having reached the age of 84. Mary was the last of the four generations of the Farmer family who had lived at Manor Farm for 171 years since 1715.
