Thomas Furley
Thomas Furley was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Furley nee Satchel or Satchwell. His father evidently worked for Lord Leigh as a carpenter and general builder; a bill exists to support this, from 1737, so the family were here for many years before Thomas' birth in 1750. Three sisters were born after Thomas, and his sister
Mary, who married
John Lenton, is buried nearby, at
D 25.11.
Thomas was baptised at Stoneleigh on 14 October 1750, and died in 1790; he was buried at Stoneleigh on 11 May. Unfortunately it is not known whether he worked in the same trade as his father, who died at the age of 91.
