Grave photoEvelyn Frances Drew Evelyn Frances Drew lived in Stoneleigh for just a few years. She was born at Grangegorman, Dublin, on 18 November 1866, the daughter of Thomas Hodgson Drew and his wife Frances nee Lea. Evelyn's parents moved about a great deal, probably owing to her father's profession as a manufacturer's agent. Their first four children were born in the Midlands, for example, but Evelyn and an older brother George were born in Ireland before the family moved to Manchester where a further two children were born. One of Evelyn's sisters, Agnes, became a governess, and Evelyn followed suit. She described herself as such in the 1891 census although her place of employment is unknown; by 1901 however, she had come to Stoneleigh and was working as governess for the Metters family at Manor Farm. (The description might be rather loose, as the two Metters children were only 4 and 2 years old in 1901!) Evelyn died at the age of 39 on 3 September 1906 and was buried on 5 September. Probate details give her address as her parents' house in Manchester.
