Pierce Butler Leigh Pierce Butler Leigh was the only son of James Wentworth Leigh (D 22.18) and his wife Frances nee Butler (D 22.18). He was born in Leamington on 2 November 1879 and baptised by his father, the vicar there, on 27 December. He died less than a year later, at ten months old, on 27 September 1880 in Herefordshire. He was buried in Stoneleigh the following day. His small cross gives his dates, together with the inscription:
