Ann Harris
Ann Harris was one of the four daughters of Stoneleigh labourer Robert Harris and his wife Susanna. Like her three sisters she was born in Ryton on Dunsmore.
The eldest sister,
Mary, was the first wife of Job Lee and is buried at Stoneleigh at
A2. The youngest sister
Hannah is buried with her husband
David Satchwell at
E 9.4.
Ann was born in early 1810 and baptised at Ryton on 11 February. She is the only one of the four siblings who did not marry and appears to have spent her life in service. In 1851 she was working as a servant at Binley Grange farm; it has been difficult to track her down in other censuses until 1891 when she was visiting her sister Hannah and her husband David, who lived at Kings Hill. Ten years later she was still at Kings Hill, a very old lady of 91, now living with her niece Mary Ann Harris Summerton, the daughter of Ann's sister Lydia.
Ann died at the great age of 94 on 5 February 1904 and was buried on 10 February.
