Christopher Lukyn and Sarah Lukyn nee Tedd
Christopher Lukyn came from a large family: he had seven siblings. His parents were William Lukyn and Sarah nee Morgan; his father was a dentist. Born in Plymouth, Devon, in 1822, he had moved with his family by the time he was five to Oxfordshire, and buy the age of 19 was giving his occupation in the 1841 census as dentist. Ten years later he was living in Coventry with Sarah, whom he married on 12 December 1855 at the Old Church, St Pancras, London. Sarah's father's occupation was given as "builder" and Christopher's as "dentist." By 1861 they lived in Smithford Street, Coventry.
Christopher had retired by the time he was 59, in 1881, and he and his wife had moved to Leamington. They then moved to 5, Stareton, where he lived until his death on 3 March 1898. He was buried on 7 March. His Will was not proved until after the death of his wife. He and Sarah had not had children.
Sarah Tedd was also from a large family: she had six siblings. Her father Benjamin was a carpenter and he and his wife Sarah nee Pettifer lived at Hill Street in Coventry. Interestingly they appear to have become a non-conformist family since although Sarah was baptised at St John Baptist Coventry on Christmas Day 1825, her birth was registered at Vicar Lane Independent Church the following year. Her older brother had, like her, been baptised at St John's, but all the later children's births were registered at Vicar Lane. Perhaps this explains the decision for Christopher and Sarah to marry in London, as they married in the Anglican church.
After Christopher's death Sarah moved to 40, Avenue Road in Leamington and lived there with a companion and servant until her death on 4 November 1914. Her connection with Stoneleigh had remained, since one of executors was William Henry Metters of Manor Farm.
