Grave photoImageHenry and Margaret were two of the seven children of Henry Carter (snr) and his wife Georgina Emily (nee Chamberlain). (see B.6.4) They were both born at Hampton on the Hill, Margaret on 27 July 1907 and Henry on 29 January 1910. By 1915 the family had moved to Stoneleigh, where their father was a labourer on the estate. Henry also worked as a general labourer and did not marry; in 1939 he lived at the North Lodge with his recently-widowed mother Georgina. He died on 10 April 1985. Margaret married Joseph Wilkinson and had two sons, Robert and Christopher. She died in June 1993, having ended her days at 6 The Green (the Almshouses) and was buried on 9 July in the same grave as her brother Henry. Christopher Wilkinson , whose ashes are interred here, worked for 42 years at Standard Triumph/Austin Rover/Rover Group as an automotive engineer. He married Janet Ruth Wilkinson (nee Paxton) from Stratford upon Avon in October 1967. They had 2 children - Emma and Ian. The family lived in Bishops Itchington. Robert Wilkinson was a merchant seaman and later worked for Thames Water. He and his wife Edna had 5 children, Helen, Louise, Maria, Tim & Kate. The family lived in Brentwood in Essex and later Eton in Berkshire. Robert died in Devon, where he & Edna had retired to, in 2020.
