James and Mabel Powell nee Preston
James Powell was born in Lapworth in 1882, the son of Henry and Eliza. He married Matilda Collins in 1910, by whom he had a daughter and a son
John Henry (
B 18.9). In 1927 he married
Mabel Preston. When he died on 26 March 1962 his address was Crackley Cottages, Kenilworth.
Mabel had been born in Claverdon on 6 June 1898, and baptised there on 31 July, the eldest daughter of James and Emma Preston nee Maull; James was a waggoner and in 1901 the family had moved to Wolverton; however, in 1911 the family lived in Stareton. She died on 7 April 1980, the address still being Crackley Cottages.
