B7.10

Grave photoJane Elizabeth Prime was the only daughter of Charles and Eliza Prime nee Prentice (see B1.11 for Eliza). She had four brothers, three of whom served in the Great War, one of whom John Charles, losing his life as a result. The whole family played a great part in Stoneleigh village life and could trace their ancestry back to the mid-eighteenth century here. She was born in mid-1883 and was baptised on 28 October. Her father had died in 1909 and by 1911 she was working as a laundry maid at Stoneleigh Abbey. She remained unmarried, and continued to live in the home on Birmingham Road which the family had inhabited since 1874. She died in Stratford-upon-Avon Hospital on 26 June 1964, having survived all but one of her brothers, Jonathan.
