Thomas England
Thomas England was the youngest of the four children of Thomas and Mary England nee Spriggs. He was born in 1841 and baptised at Stoneleigh on 13 June; his father was an agricultural labourer. He married
Harriet Lee, (
E 3.3) the daughter of a Coventry watch case maker, in 1867, and the couple went on to have a large family of thirteen children, eleven of whom had survived by the time of the 1911 census.
Thomas lived in Stoneleigh his whole life and died on 1 February 1923.
Their two eldest sons emigrated to Canada. Daughters
Maud Ann Oughton and
Gertrude Lucy Hanson, and grand-daughter
Irene Gwendoline Pinnell are commemorated along with their mother at
E 3.3. His grandson
Horace Cyril Oughton is buried at
D 26.1.
