William Prime was one of the four sons of Charles Prime and Eliza nee Prentice. His mother is buried at Stoneleigh in
B1.11 and his sister Jane in
B7.10. They were a very well-known Stoneleigh family.
The family home from 1879 until 1964 was in Birmingham Road, and William (Bill) was well-known as the village boot repairer. Bill, the second child in the family, was born on 23 August 1881 and baptised at Stoneleigh on 30 April 1882. In the Great War he was called up to serve in the Royal Warwickshires, in May 1916; in the Second World War he was an ARP warden in the village. Like his sister Jane, he did not marry, and he died on 23 February 1956, aged 74.
