You will always be made very welcome. We had a strong turnout at our first meeting of 2026, which included presentations from two members. Our next meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 24th, with another double presentation by two members. 1. "Coventry Whitefriars, from religious foundation to workhouse" 2. "The brass band conductor and his defiant daughter", a tale of working-class life in West Yorkshire at the beginning of the 20th century The meeting begins at 7:30pm in Stoneleigh Village Hall. New members are welcome. Non-members pay £3, which includes refreshments. Annual membership fees of £20 are now due. For additional information, please refer to the membership page. After her November 2024 talk "Stoneleigh, Sugar and Slavery" Sheila Woolf has published a booklet telling a tale of Stoneleigh's role in a dark episode of the seventeenth century - a story of surprises.

The 1939 register has also been updated to include some names which were originally redacted. A paper copy of this can also be found in the Leigh Chapel, alongside the display. Were any of your relatives A.R.P wardens, land girls or "doing their bit" for Stoneleigh? The 1939 register may show if they were.
