William John and Annie King nee French
William John (Bill) King was the sixth of the eight children born to Joseph and Mary Maria King nee Lowe. The family had moved from Priors Marston in about 1893, first to Cubbington and then to Stoneleigh. William was born on 15 June 1903 and was baptised at Stoneleigh on 16 August. The whole family were living together in 1911, from the eldest son Alfred, aged 22, to the youngest, Hubert, aged two. Sadly Albert, born in 1907, had died when just six weeks old.
In the Spring of 1929 William married Annie French.
Annie French's background would have been familiar to the King family as the French family came from Priors Marston too. In the 1911 census when the family lived in Byfield it was stated that Annie was one of nine children born to Ernest and Ellen French, though one had died; she was born on 16 March 1903.
Bill and Annie had a daughter, Pamela Mary, born in 1933, who married Robert (Bob)Sidney Neale.
Bill died on 6 January 1971 and Annie many years later on 25 August 1994, when she was 91.
